The SupTronics X1011 is a high‑capacity storage expansion board for the Raspberry Pi 5, supporting up to four M.2 2280 NVMe SSDs. Compatible with 2280, 2260, 2242, and 2230 formats, the X1011 connects via PCIe 2.0, offering transfer speeds up to 5 Gbps — perfect for building NAS systems, media servers, or large local storage libraries.
At its core, the X1011 features an ASMedia ASM1184e PCIe switch chip that manages data across its four PCIe interfaces, ensuring PCIe Gen 2 performance and efficient bandwidth distribution. Designed to mount neatly to the underside of the Raspberry Pi 5, it keeps the GPIO header accessible for HATs, coolers, and other accessories.
The board provides dual power options: draw power from the Pi via pogo pins and USB‑C, or power the Pi directly through the X1011 using a standard DC barrel jack (5 V / 5 A). Standoffs are included for secure installation, and a built‑in blue LED indicator displays power and drive activity at a glance.
Important: Never power the X1011 using both the DC input and the Pi’s USB‑C port at the same time — doing so can damage the hardware.
