Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ (26T)

The Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ (26 TOPS) is a high-performance AI acceleration add-on designed for the Raspberry Pi 5, enabling complex AI vision workloads to run locally, in real time, with low latency and high throughput.

Built around the Hailo-8 neural network accelerator, this variant delivers up to 26 tera-operations per second (TOPS) of AI inference performance. It is ideal for larger neural networks, faster inference, and running multiple AI models simultaneously. Tasks such as object detection, semantic and instance segmentation, pose estimation, and facial landmarking run entirely on the onboard Neural Processing Unit (NPU), leaving the Raspberry Pi 5 CPU free for application logic and system tasks.

The AI HAT+ connects via the PCIe Gen 3 interface of the Raspberry Pi 5. When used with an up-to-date Raspberry Pi OS, the Hailo accelerator is automatically detected and exposed to applications. The rpicam-apps camera stack natively supports the AI HAT+, automatically offloading compatible post-processing tasks to the NPU.

This 26 TOPS variant is designed for demanding edge AI applications such as robotics, smart security systems, industrial vision, process control, and advanced automation.
