Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ (13T)

The Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ (13 TOPS) is an AI acceleration add-on designed for the Raspberry Pi 5, enabling advanced AI vision applications to run locally, in real time, with low latency and low power consumption.

Built around the Hailo-8L neural network accelerator, the AI HAT+ delivers up to 13 tera-operations per second (TOPS) of inference performance. State-of-the-art neural networks for object detection, semantic and instance segmentation, pose estimation, and facial landmarking can run entirely on the onboard Neural Processing Unit (NPU), freeing the Raspberry Pi 5 CPU for other tasks.

The AI HAT+ communicates via the PCIe Gen 3 interface of the Raspberry Pi 5. When used with an up-to-date Raspberry Pi OS, the Hailo accelerator is automatically detected and made available to applications. The rpicam-apps camera stack natively supports the AI HAT+, automatically offloading compatible post-processing tasks to the NPU.

This 13 TOPS variant offers a cost-effective and power-efficient entry point for edge AI applications such as process control, security systems, home automation, robotics, and smart vision projects.
