Feature
  • Dual M.2 Slot with PCIe3.0 SpeedUtilizing the ASMedia ASM2806 PCIe 3.0 switch chip, ensures optimal performance, overcoming PCIe 2.0 limitations.
  • Stable Power Supply: Additional Pogo Pins for extra power supply to ensure a stable high-speed connection.
  • Multiple Size Support: 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 standard size compatible.
  • Back-mounted Design: 40-pin GPIO free to use, compatible with other Pi hats
  • User-friendly Design: S-shaped FPC cable does not obstruct the micro SD card.
  • Open Source Case: Seeed M.2 hats doesn't compatible with Raspberry Pi official case, so we provide adapted 3D printing case stp file.

Due to compatibility issues with Raspberry Pi's PCIe, not all NVMe SSDs are supported. Raspberry Pi's official developers are continuously updating the system to support more NVMe SSD controllers and models. Especially if booting from an SSD is required, we strongly recommend updating to the latest Raspberry Pi firmware and bootloader. For detailed instructions, please refer to the Raspberry Pi 5 uses PCIe hat/dual hat.

Many excellent suppliers, such as Pimoroni, provide detailed compatibility lists. We are sorry that at this stage we have not tested enough SSD models to provide a detailed SSD compatibility list. Currently, on the Seeed homepage of User Submissions - seeedstudio - pibenchmarks.com, there are several verified SSDs that can be used for storage and system boot disks. We will try to improve this list as much as possible in the future. Users are also welcome to share compatibility information in the comments section or via email. For now, you can refer to the compatibility lists of other SSD with Raspberry Pi 5 in the community. If you are unsure which SSDs are compatible, you can purchase SSDs sold on the Seeed website, all of which are verified. Among them, 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB are from Foresee, and 1TB, 2TB are from Kioxia.
