The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 SODIMM (CM4S) is a compact and powerful System on Module (SoM) that integrates processing, memory, and essential power circuitry into an industry-standard SODIMM form factor. Built on the proven Raspberry Pi 4 Model B architecture, it delivers significantly improved performance while maintaining compatibility for industrial and embedded systems.
The CM4S is specifically targeted at industrial customers migrating from Compute Module 3 or Compute Module 3+. It enables a smooth transition to a modern 64-bit platform while preserving existing carrier board designs and system layouts. Due to this specialized focus, the CM4S is not intended for general retail sale. For new product designs, the standard Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 is recommended instead.
Powered by a Broadcom BCM2711 quad-core Cortex-A72 processor, the CM4S offers strong CPU performance, advanced multimedia capabilities, and extensive I/O support. With integrated LPDDR4 memory featuring ECC, it is well suited for applications requiring reliability, stability, and long-term availability, such as industrial control, automation, digital signage, and embedded computing solutions.
Comprehensive display and camera interfaces, hardware-accelerated video decoding, and OpenGL ES 3.0 graphics support make the Compute Module 4S a flexible platform for demanding embedded applications where performance and form factor are critical.
